Excellent flight yoke & phantom key issue resolved!!


Okay i have to admit i used to be initially postpone by the quantity of reviews and posts i would scan with regards to the notorious 'phantom key' issue, that's views intermitantly changing, gears mounting and down etc. with no input from the user. 


Although i feel CH merchandise create terrific flight controllers and that i use the CH professional pedals, professional throttle and F-16 fighterstick i used to be interested in the Saitek Yoke's larger, separate throttle, swish metal shaft and multi-mode capabilities. 


With some trepidation I purchased the unit on the proviso that I may come it problem free ought to I even have a 'defective unit'. positive enough, among 10 minutes of setting it and trialing it in each FS9 and FSX my views were changing randomly from once each minute to once each few seconds! i attempted deleting the keys and re-programming them in FS and turning of the USB power saving fuction in Windows hardware manager however the matter persisted. Determined to urge it operating (as i used to be immediately impressed by the planning, feel and movement of the yoke & throttle) I did a trifle analysis and discovered that by just downloading and putting in the most recent versions of Pete Dowson's FSUIPC dll's for FSX and FS9 the phantom key press issue was resolved. 


As several MS Flight Simmer's could or might not remember, Pete's FSUIPC is put in into the modules folder within the FS directories and tweaks/improves input, clouds, weather and interfaces several third party addon's with MSFS. FSUIPC will be found at www.schiratti.com/dowson.html i'm currently using FSUIPC4 v.4.2.0.0 for FSX and FSUIPC v.3783 (beta) in FS2004 below XP SP2. 


Where drawback|the matter} has originated I can not be positive however could be a shame that an otherwise glorious product has had it's name and possibly sales tarnished by this unfortunate problem that the bulk of users appear to possess experienced. while not the frustration of the phantom keys issue this yoke is an excellent product and a pleasure to use.
